Maddux - 1 year update.

I can't believe this boy is 1!

What?! I'm 1?!

I remember February 8th, 2013 so well.  He is growing up so fast.

It is so fun watching him learn, laugh, and play.  He sure is he sweetest boy!

Kris made this video awhile ago to capture a lot of moments.

*He has taken several steps.
*He has 6 teeth (4 top, 2 bottom)
*He love going through my purse
*He loves music and dancing
*He is so intrigued by bubbles
*He is imitating (or at least trying) so many sounds/words.
*Bath time is always fun
*He'll give kisses
*He loves reading books at night and his current favorite is Hop on Pop by Dr. Suess
*He loves cars (one of his first words)
*Probably 4x a week I will go in when he is sleeping and snuggle him. He is getting big, I wont be able to do this for long and I need to milk it now.

*He is a lot like a puppy---

- Crawl up to you and give you the puppydog face when you are eating
- Carry things in his mouth and crawl across the room with them
- One time Kris said he circled his spot in his crib before he fell asleep.

He still smiles so much! We cannot get enough.

We are so blessed!  We love you Maddux!

Below are a ton of pictures over the last few months....

Giving Mommy kisses.

Giving Daddy kisses.
Giving the baby kisses.

He loves his books!

LIB Festival

Oh man!!  This was so fun

Some highlights --

** Alabama Shakes-- I wasn't sure I knew them.  I just was OK going because they performed before Imagine Dragons and thought it would be good to go early.  We  loved Alabama Shakes, and loved we were there early for Imagine Dragons..

Resting my feet while waiting for ID..

** Imagine Dragons..  I saw them a long long time ago. They had a free show, it was at Palace Station or Sunset Station or somewhere like that..  It was fun, they were good.  They also performed at a Zappos Vendor Party years ago.. BUT this time, it was so much better.  It was downtown Las Vegas, where they started, and they had Cirq performers come on stage during their final song Radioactive.

I went to middle school with Dan.  We stayed in touch (well, via FB..) - but haven't talked for a few years.  I know I have a picture with him, but cannot find it.  I didn't look that hard.

**I missed Nico Vega the first day and was so bummed!  I can go into this big long reason why, but it will probably upset me...  I "liked" them on Facebook, and saw they posted "If you missed us you have another chance".  They had this little jam session in a tent set up at the festival.  I was 5 feet away from them.  There was one song that I did not know the words to, not even one word, but I was trying to sing along... I wish I could have seen myself.. haha :)

**Saw a little Childish Gambino-- Vampire Weekend -- ZZ Ward -- Michael Jackson ONE cirq performers

** Rode a Ferris Wheel

** Ate lots of food -- Vegan "cheesecake" , Mexican Corn from Nacho Daddy, Lobster Mac n Cheese, and a meatball are the ones I remember

** Got a massage- for free

** THEN... The Killers.  Man--  I really like The Killers, and like listening to them on the radio or from my phone.   They were SO GOOD live.... I like them even more now.  I said "i hope they play Mr. Brightside" then they come out and open with it!   I loved when they covered Viva Las Vegas.

So they left the stage...wanting an Encore...and while people were cheering and yelling for them, they never performed "When we Were Young" -- So everyone knew they would come back.

Kris said he has a man crush.  Now every time I hear The Killers it takes me back to the LIB Festival...  can't wait for next year!

The week before, this little crazy kid got 2 teeth and mastered crawling..

Life really is beautiful.

Maddux's First Christmas

We had wonderful Christmas.

Growing up,  my family opened pajamas every Christmas Eve, and we will do that tradition with Maddux.

He did NOT like his slippers.

Being a mom was very strange for me this Christmas  I wrote on a gift tag "From: Mom and Dad".  It was the strangest thing referring to Kris and I as "Mom and Dad"...

Christmas Eve we went to my sisters and read from the bible and reenacted the part of Jesus' birth.

We went home made cookies for Santa. I know Maddux is only one, but if Santa is still coming, he wants some dang cookies! ;)

Christmas morning we woke up with tons of gifts and our stockings filled.

Maddux was adorable.  More interested in his presents than I thought he would be, because usually younger children love the bows, boxes, paper, etc.

Boy was he spoiled!  More so from others than us. :)

We went to Kris' parents.  Their tradition is breakfast Christmas morning, clean  up, and open presents from youngest in age to oldest.

We got spoiled too, holy moly!

It was wonderful to spend time with our families and be thankful for everything in our life.

Joy to the World!
